Help with measuring your roller blinds
Before recording your measurements, please follow these simple steps to ensure your powered blind is an exact fit:
- Use a metal tape measure for accurate measurements.
- Make sure you have a pen and paper ready to record your measurements in centimeters (see below to
download our measurement templates). - Take into account any obstructions such as window handles or tiles, etc.
- If your recess is partly tiled – measure the top of the recess and again between the tiles, then compare the two measurements. If the difference between them is less than 18mm – use the measurement at the top of the recess. If it is more than 18mm either use the measurement between the tiles, or reduce top of the recess measurement accordingly for a closer fit.
Important note when measuring for your powered roller blind
The blind width you order releates to the bracket to bracket width. We have to allow for the brackets and motor head at either end of the blind, so please be aware that the fabric width is approximately 3.6cm less than the overall recorded measurement. Example - a blind ordered at a width of 100cm will have a bracket to bracket width of 100cm and the fabric width will be 96.4cm (100cm minus 3.6cm).
Cassette Systems
When you order a cassette system, the width you order is the overall blind width including the cassette – the blind roller assembly fits within the cassette profile with the fabric width 3.9cm less than the cassette width to account for the motor head and roller tube componentry.
Inside Recess Fit Type: We will deduct 10mm from your width measurement when ordering a cassette system to be fitted inside the window recess. This is to ensure the cassette profile fits comfortably within the window recess area (there will be a 5mm gap at either side of the cassette profile when fitted). Example - a blind ordered at a width of 100cm will have a cassette width of 99cm and the fabric width will be 95.1cm (100cm minus 3.9cm).
Outside Recess Fit Type: The cassette will be supplied at the exact width ordered if outside recess is selected as the fit type.
Inside Recess FitTake three measurements across the width and height of the recess and use the shortest measurements recorded when ordering your powered roller blind.
|
Outside Recess FitBefore taking measurements, you must decide on how much fabric overlap you would like over the window recess. Take this into account when recording your measurements along with the 3.6cm allowance for a standard roller and 3.9cm for a cassette roller blind.
